Stephen Ahnert - Principal Engineer and Partner
Stephen is a principal engineer and partner of Ripple Design. He has extensive experience in mechanical design and analysis spanning a variety of different industries including highly-regulated industries such as the commercial nuclear and juvenile products fields.
Prior to founding Ripple Design, Stephen was a senior engineer in the stroller development group at Graco Children’s Products, a leading manufacturer of juvenile products. In his role, he was responsible for mechanism design, large-volume plastic part design, design for manufacturability, and product safety testing.
Stephen also worked at Dominion Engineering, Inc. (DEI), a small consulting group focused primarily on the nuclear power industry. His work at DEI focused on nonlinear ANSYS finite-element analysis (FEA) of a variety of different applications including combined thermal-structural analysis of pressure vessels, evaluation of piping systems subject to hydrogen detonations, and calculation of welding residual stresses in vessel nozzles. Stephen also directed the design, fabrication, and deployment of ultrasonic nuclear fuel cleaning equipment at Vandellos Nuclear Power Plant in Spain.
Stephen has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Princeton University.
